Completing routine maintenance keeps concrete drills in top working condition. For example, checking and filling the oil reservoir regularly takes only a few minutes but can prevent a drill motor from slowing down or seizing.
Choosing a drill with advanced lubrication features — such as a multi-point oil injection system — simplifies maintenance for greater productivity. Multi-point oil injection systems, found on E-Z Drill multi-gang units, feed oil from a single reservoir to each drill motor individually to ensure each receives sufficient lubrication.
Other methods fail to ensure adequate lubrication. A system such as the central oiling method relies on pressure to pull oil to each drill motor. This moves oil to the path of least resistance — typically the center drill motor on a multi-gang drill — leaving the others less lubricated and prone to premature wear.
